Chet Hanks Got Sober For The Sake Of Daughter
“It was the prospect of having a kid, and I knew that in nine months there’s gonna be a baby here,” Chet told Entertainment Tonight. “That gave me the motivation to be like, ‘OK, I’ve had my time now, and I need to move on.’”
The 27-year-old has been candid about his battle to stay sober in the past including a stint in rehab.
“There’s a part of you that knows that you need to make a change but you can’t really shut that door on your life and just move on to a new chapter,” he added. “For me, it took something drastic happening, like becoming a father, for me to make that change.”
He adds that his famous parents,
“It’s awesome seeing them being grandparents as well, because I was really close with my grandparents and now my daughter gets to have the same experience,” Chet shared.
Since getting clean, Chet’s music and acting careers have taken off. He’s part of the duo FTRZ and he’s appeared in seven episodes of the hit Showtime drama “Shameless” as well as six episodes of the Fox show “Empire.”
